Join us and help build a community.

Our volunteers aren’t just doing work - they are building community. We encourage our volunteers to think about volunteer service differently - to see volunteering as doing things with our residents and community members, rather than doing things for them.

NOTE: Winchester Rescue Mission’s volunteer program does not participate in court-ordered community service. However, a neighboring community partner - “Our Health” - may be able to help you. Click here to go to their page.

What kinds of volunteer work is needed?

The majority of our volunteer opportunities are in the areas of food service, followed by office assistance and maintenance. It currently takes 20+ volunteers every day just to make our food ministry happen.

Additionally, there is opportunity for you to offer your unique expertise to provide education and experiences for the residents in our program. If you’re interested in doing that, ask about how you can get involved with our resident programs when attending one of our orientations.

When do we need volunteers?

Virtually all of our volunteering needs are during the Weekdays between 8:00AM and 6:30PM and on the Weekends for lunch and dinner service. You can browse specific volunteer opportunities in the POINT app once you have attended an orientation.

What is your first step to becoming a volunteer?

Attend one of our volunteer orientations. We typically host two of these each month and you can find them listed below. The orientation process will introduce you to our history, ministry, culture, and goals - as well as practical instruction on procedure, policy, and expectations.

Sign up for an Orientation

Registering for an Orientation will require you to sign-in to the POINT app or setup a free account if you don’t already have a login. This will allow you to register for the orientation and get reminders and instructions for arriving. POINT is the volunteer platform we use to schedule and coordinate all volunteer activities. If you have any questions, or don’t see any dates below, contact Sam Rogers at samr@winrescue.org.
